In a significant development in the Coimbatore gangrape case, the Peelamedu police on Friday presented a voluminous supplementary chargesheet before the district mahila court. This 200-page document builds upon the initial chargesheet, aiming to solidify the case against the three accused involved in the brutal assault of a college student on November 2, 2025.
Mounting Evidence Against the Accused Trio
The police had earlier filed a 50-page preliminary chargesheet on December 2, 2025, naming the three accused: T Karuppusamy alias Satheesh (30) from Singampunari in Sivaganga district, his brother T Kaleeswaran alias Karthik (21), and their relative M Guna alias Thavasi (20) from Madurai district. The latest supplementary chargesheet incorporates a wide array of forensic and technical evidence gathered during the investigation.
The new document includes more than 300 CCTV clips that were crucial in tracing and arresting the accused. Investigators have also added technical documents related to the digital trail, evidence seized from a motor room at the Government Polytechnic College in the city, and a sickle recovered from the crime scene. Further physical evidence such as clothing and fingerprints form a critical part of the file.
Forensic Reports and Legal Framework
To establish conclusive proof, the chargesheet contains potency test reports and DNA test reports of the accused. Mobile phone evidence has been meticulously documented to establish the sequence of events and communication between the perpetrators.
A senior police officer stated that the force is taking all necessary steps to complete the investigation swiftly and ensure the trio receives the maximum punishment under the law. The officer revealed that the arrests were made based on a complaint filed by the rape survivor's boyfriend.
