In a significant development in the Chennai triple murder case, doctors conducting the postmortem examination on the body of Munithakumari, a 21-year-old migrant worker from Bihar, have confirmed to police that there were no signs of sexual assault. The medical team determined that she died due to head injuries caused by a blunt weapon.
Recovery of the Victim's Body After Intensive Search
Munithakumari's body was recovered from the Perungudi dumpyard on Friday following an intensive three-day search operation. The search involved approximately 100 police personnel and 50 conservancy workers, with earthmovers deployed to clear large heaps of waste based on information provided by the arrested suspects.
Police reported that the body, found inside a sack, was in an advanced stage of decomposition as it had remained in the dumping yard for nearly five days. The body was subsequently sent to Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) for postmortem examination.
Details of the Autopsy and Medical Findings
A team of doctors, including assistant professors Dr. Siva Kumar and Dr. Raghuram, conducted the autopsy on Saturday.
