Arrest Made During Special Patrolling Operation in Sector 25
During one of these intensified operations, a police team successfully apprehended a suspect near the gas agency turn in Sector 25. The patrolling was conducted under the direct supervision of SDPO Central Dalbir Singh and SHO Sector-11 Inspector Jaspal Singh Bhullar, with ASI Amarjit Singh leading the on-ground team. Details of the Accused and Recovered Weapons
The arrested individual has been identified as Krish alias Kaka, a resident of Sector 25 in Chandigarh. Upon searching him, police recovered two country-made pistols, commonly known as desi kattas, along with two live cartridges from his possession. Krish failed to produce any valid license or permit for carrying these firearms, leading to his immediate arrest at the scene.
Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation
A formal case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Arms Act at the Sector-11 police station. Police officials emphasized that this timely intervention helped avert a potential untoward incident in the area, underscoring the importance of their proactive patrolling strategy. The accused is currently being produced before the court to seek police remand for further questioning.
