Chandigarh Lab Owner Arrested in Pharmacy Shooting Case

Chandigarh police have made a significant arrest in the shocking Sector 32 pharmacy shooting case. The crime branch detained a 28-year-old diagnostic lab owner for his alleged role in the violent incident.

Accused Facilitated Attack Through Information Sharing

Investigators identified the arrested man as Rahul Bisht, who operates a private diagnostic laboratory in Sector 32. Police claim he acted as a facilitator by providing crucial details about Sewak Pharmacy and its owners to criminal elements.

According to police statements, Bisht allegedly shared logistical information that enabled shooters to carry out their planned attack. This information included specifics about the pharmacy layout and the movements of its owners.

Friday Night Shooting Terrorizes Pharmacy

The violent incident unfolded around 10 pm last Friday at Sewak Pharmacy in Sector 32D. Two men arrived at the establishment riding an Activa scooter. One assailant entered the shop and fired two rounds directly at the counter.

Co-owner Tanish Luthra, aged 23, was present behind the counter when the shots rang out. Both bullets struck the counter area—one shattering the glass front—but miraculously missed all occupants inside the pharmacy.

The attackers issued threats to staff members before fleeing the scene on their scooter. Luthra later stated in his police complaint that he believes he could identify the shooters if presented before him.

Extortion and Gangster Links Emerge

Police investigations reveal the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute that escalated into a coordinated criminal act. The case now appears connected to broader extortion activities and criminal conspiracy.

Investigators discovered Bisht was allegedly in regular contact with gangster elements. They are currently verifying his connections to organized crime networks operating in the region.

Viral Audio Clip Claims Responsibility

A disturbing development emerged soon after the shooting when an audio clip went viral on social media platforms. The recording purportedly features Saba Gobindgarh, an associate of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

In the audio message, Gobindgarh claims responsibility for the pharmacy attack and issues direct threats to the business owners. Chandigarh police have confirmed they are working to authenticate this recording as part of their ongoing investigation.

Ongoing Police Investigation

Police teams continue their probe on multiple fronts. Key priorities include verifying the authenticity of the viral audio message, recovering the weapon used in the shooting, and identifying remaining suspects involved in the attack.

The crime branch is examining all possible angles, including potential financial motives and previous threats made against the pharmacy owners. Investigators emphasize this case demonstrates how personal disputes can escalate into serious criminal activities with organized crime involvement.

Local residents have expressed concern about the brazen nature of the attack in a busy sector of Chandigarh. Police have assured increased vigilance in commercial areas while their investigation progresses.
