Police authorities disclosed this information on Tuesday, raising alarms about his sudden disappearance.
Search Operations Yield No Results
Bulandshahr Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar stated that extensive search operations have been conducted around the cremation site and the adjacent riverbank. Despite these efforts, no trace of the missing man has been found, deepening the mystery surrounding his whereabouts.
Evidence Points to Possible Wild Animal Involvement
Police investigations have revealed chilling clues at the scene. Bloodstains were discovered inside the caretaker's small room, and footprints resembling those of a wild animal were spotted nearby. These findings have led to suspicions of a potential wild animal attack, though no concrete evidence has been established yet.
Background of the Missing Caretaker
The missing individual, identified as Binnami, originally hailed from Jadoul village in the Atrauli area of Aligarh district. For the past 10 to 12 years, he had made his home in a modest room at the cremation ground. His responsibilities included maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the site, and he sustained himself through donations collected from the local market. Known affectionately as "Binnami Baba" by locals, his absence has sparked concern in the community.
Discovery and Community Response
The situation came to light when residents noticed bloodstains inside Binnami's room, prompting them to report him missing to the police on Monday evening. Adding to the intrigue, a pet dog found unconscious near the spot has further fueled fears. As news spread, villagers gathered at the cremation ground, expressing anxieties about a possible murder, though authorities are exploring all angles.
Ongoing Investigation and Expert Analysis
On Tuesday, police personnel intensified their search, scouring the cremation ground and the banks of the Kali river, but to no avail. Forest range officer Aditya Singh visited the location with his team to examine the footprints and other evidence.
