A sudden tyre burst on a car in Koppal district triggered a serious road accident on Thursday, leaving eight people injured, three of whom are in critical condition. The incident occurred in the Sriramanagar area of Gangavathi taluk.

Sequence of the Accident

According to police reports, the catastrophic failure of a car tyre caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The out-of-control car first collided with a motorcycle and then slammed into a bus belonging to a private school. The force of the impacts resulted in significant damage to all vehicles involved at the scene.

Injuries and Emergency Response

The injured totalled eight individuals, comprising four occupants from the car, three people from the motorcycle, and an attendant from the school bus. Authorities confirmed that one motorcyclist and two car passengers sustained grievous injuries and are currently in critical condition. All the injured were promptly rushed to the Government Hospital in Gangavathi for urgent medical treatment. In a fortunate turn of events, the children travelling on the school bus escaped unharmed.

Police Investigation Underway

Personnel from the Gangavathi Rural police station reached the accident site immediately. They conducted a thorough inspection of the area to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tyre burst and the subsequent collisions. The police have officially registered a case and the investigation is ongoing to ascertain if factors like tyre wear, overloading, or road conditions played a role in this unfortunate mishap.
