Chartered Accountant Abducted Over Loan Dispute, Swift Police Rescue in Gujarat

A chartered accountant from Junagadh district in Gujarat was allegedly kidnapped and threatened with death over a financial dispute involving a substantial loan amount. The victim was rescued within hours by the Junagadh City B Division police in a dramatic operation that unfolded late at night.

Family's Terrifying Night: Missing Relative and Ransom Demands

The incident came to light when Yash Maru, a resident of Bhodka village in Manavadar taluka, filed a formal complaint against businessman Jay Odedra and other individuals. The complaint detailed the abduction of his brother-in-law, Milan Chauhan, a professional loan consultant.

According to the police report, on the evening of January 23 around 9:30 PM, Maru received a distressing call from his sister Nimisha. She informed him that her husband Milan had not returned home from his office and his mobile phone was completely switched off, raising immediate alarm.

The family launched a frantic search, contacting relatives and acquaintances throughout the night, but found no trace of Milan. The situation took a sinister turn around midnight when a call finally came through from Milan's own phone number.

Kidnappers Issue Deadly Ultimatum: Arrange Rs 60 Lakh or Face Consequences

During that harrowing call, Milan revealed he had been forcibly taken by Jay Odedra. He was under duress, being compelled to arrange a staggering sum of Rs 60 lakh by 11 AM the following morning. The kidnappers issued explicit threats, warning the family not to involve the police under any circumstances.

Adding to the terror, another individual allegedly came on the line, delivering a chilling ultimatum. He stated that Milan would be killed if the underlying loan-related dispute was not settled promptly, leaving the family in a state of extreme fear and desperation.

Swift Police Action: Technical Surveillance Leads to Highway Rescue

Upon being alerted by the traumatized family, the authorities sprang into immediate action. Investigation Officer Jatin Patel spearheaded the operation, utilizing advanced technical surveillance methods to trace Milan's location and movements.

A dedicated team from the B Division police was rapidly mobilized. Acting on the intelligence gathered, they rushed towards the Porbandar area. Their swift response proved crucial.

The police team discovered Milan Chauhan abandoned on the Porbandar–Jamnagar highway. The suspects had fled the scene, leaving their vehicle behind in their haste to escape. Milan was found unharmed but undoubtedly shaken by the traumatic ordeal.

Ongoing Investigation and Manhunt for the Accused

Police officials have confirmed that a comprehensive manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the primary accused, Jay Odedra, and all other individuals involved in this serious criminal act. The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together the full sequence of events and the precise motives behind the kidnapping.

This incident highlights the potential dangers associated with financial disputes and underscores the importance of prompt police intervention in such critical situations. The Junagadh police's rapid response ensured a safe resolution to what could have been a far more tragic outcome.
