A bus carrying devotees overturned on the Fazilka-Ferozepur road in Punjab on Wednesday, leaving six people injured. The incident occurred near the village of Jandwala Charan Singh when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The bus was en route from Fazilka to Ferozepur when it met with the accident. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was traveling at a high speed when it swerved off the road and overturned. Local residents rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured passengers.
All six injured individuals were taken to the Fazilka Civil Hospital for treatment. Medical officials confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening, and the victims were in stable condition. The bus driver reportedly sustained minor injuries and was also admitted for observation.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have lost control due to a tire burst or excessive speed. Authorities have urged caution on the roads, especially during the monsoon season when roads can be slippery.
The devotees were on their way to a religious gathering in Ferozepur. The bus operator has been asked to provide details of the vehicle's maintenance records. Further investigations are underway.
