A horrific crime has shaken Bulandshahr, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly abducted, gang-raped, and murdered by two men who then threw her from the third floor of a building to disguise their brutal act. The incident occurred on Friday evening, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting immediate police action.
The Gruesome Sequence of Events
According to police, the young victim was abducted from outside her house. The two accused, both factory labourers in their late twenties, were reportedly drinking together when they hatched the plan. SSP (Bulandshahr) Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that the men confessed one of them suggested targeting a young girl from their area "for fun." They stepped out, saw the child, and took her.
After committing the crime, the duo attempted to mislead authorities by throwing the girl from the third floor to make it appear like an accident. However, their plan began to unravel quickly. A friend of the girl's father had seen her with the men earlier. Crucially, the child's mother later discovered her daughter's slippers inside the rented room where the two accused lived.
Swift Police Action and Arrests
The girl was found unconscious behind the building and rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The autopsy report, as cited by SSP Singh, confirmed sexual assault and death due to strangulation, along with multiple injuries all over her body.
Police formed three teams to track down the perpetrators. The accused were located hiding in a small under-construction colony. In a brief encounter, both sustained bullet injuries to their legs before being apprehended later that same night. They have been sent to jail. "We'll ensure a speedy trial in this case," assured SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh.
Family's Anguish and Legal Framework
The victim's father, who had been living with his family in the same building on rent for about eight months, filed the complaint. He expressed utter devastation, stating the accused were known to them. "They cannot be humans; they're demons, and deserve the most stringent punishment," he told TOI.
An FIR has been registered under stringent laws. The charges include Section 70(2) (gang-rape) and Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This legal framework underscores the gravity of the crime and the pursuit of maximum punishment.
