Bokaro: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband with an axe in Bokaro's Pindrajora area over a dispute about visiting her parents' house. Police arrested the accused on Monday and recovered the murder weapon.
Incident Details
The incident occurred in Chakulia village under Pindrajora police station on April 26. The accused, identified as Vikas Kumar Rajwar, allegedly attacked his wife, Shanu Devi, with an axe following a heated argument over her insistence on visiting her parental home.
Police Response
According to SP Bokaro Nathu Singh Meena, police officers reached the village after receiving information about the incident. Her body was sent to the sub-divisional hospital in Chas for post-mortem examination.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint filed by the victim's mother, Savitri Devi, a resident of Dhanbad district.
Confession and Evidence
During interrogation, Rajwar allegedly confessed to the crime, stating that he lost his temper over his wife's repeated demand to return to her maternal home. Police recovered a blood-stained axe, believed to be the murder weapon, based on the accused's disclosure. A blood-soaked bedsheet was also seized from the crime scene.
SP said, “Further investigation is underway.”
