Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Strikes Twice in Delhi Within an Hour

In a bold challenge to police efforts, shooters targeted two locations in Delhi on Monday night. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly carried out both attacks. These incidents occurred within just one hour of each other.

First Shooting at Paschim Vihar Gym

Two men on a motorcycle fired twice into the air outside RK Fitness on Outer Ring Road in Paschim Vihar. This happened around 11 pm. Police confirmed that no one suffered injuries during this firing.

A social media post claimed responsibility for the attack. The post linked the incident to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Randeep Malik stated he carried out the firing with Anil Pandit. Police believe Pandit operates from the United States.

The post named the gym and its owner Rohit Khatri directly. It issued explicit threats against them. The message warned that ignoring calls could lead to a fate similar to gangster-turned-businessman Nadir Shah. Shah was gunned down outside a gym in Greater Kailash-I in September 2024.

The social media post also listed several gangs. It mentioned Jitender Gogi, Hashim Baba, and Kala Rana. The post asserted their allegiance to Lawrence Bishnoi.

An employee at the gym shared details with TOI. He said he received a threatening call about one and a half months ago. The caller threatened to kill them if they did not talk. The employee initially thought it was a prank call. He did not take it seriously at the time.

Police registered an FIR at Paschim Vihar East police station. They filed it under relevant BNS sections.

Second Shooting at West Vinod Nagar Businessman's House

An hour after the first incident, firing was reported from West Vinod Nagar in east Delhi. Around 12:03 am, two bike-borne men wearing helmets fired three to four rounds into the air. They targeted the residence of local businessman Jitender Gupta.

A caller alerted police to this incident. The caller noticed the biker making a video of the house. Then the pillion rider fired into the air. Both men fled the scene immediately.

Crime and FSL teams reached the spot and inspected it thoroughly. However, they could not recover any cartridge or bullet from the location.

Police deployed two sentries equipped with heavy firearms. They provided security to the caller as a precautionary measure.

Officers said the firing appears linked to an earlier extortion threat. Gupta lodged a complaint in September last year. He stated that he received a WhatsApp audio call from an international number. The caller introduced himself as a member of the Bishnoi gang. He demanded Rs 5 crore from Gupta. The caller threatened dire consequences if Gupta did not meet the demand.

Police Investigation Underway

Police are probing all angles in both incidents. They are examining links to extortion and organised crime. Efforts are underway to identify the shooters involved in these attacks.

Authorities are also working to trace the social media accounts that claimed responsibility. The investigation aims to uncover the full extent of these coordinated threats.

These back-to-back shootings highlight ongoing challenges in Delhi's law enforcement landscape. They underscore the brazen tactics employed by criminal gangs in the city.
