A tragic incident has shaken a village in Bihar's Saran district, where two teenage students were found dead in an apparent suicide. The victims, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were classmates and residents of the same locality.

The incident took place late on Wednesday night in Moti Chhapra village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sahajitpur police station. According to preliminary information from the police, the two minors allegedly hanged themselves using the same dupatta inside the boy's house.
Sahajitpur Station House Officer (SHO) Suraj Kumar Sharma provided details of the circumstances. The girl was living with her elderly grandparents at the time, as her father works in Mumbai and her mother was attending a wedding in Delhi. The boy's mother had passed away some years ago, and on the evening of the incident, his father and brother had also gone to attend a wedding.
Families in Shock, Police Investigation Continues
The families of both teenagers expressed complete shock, stating they were unaware of any close relationship between the two. Ganpat Mahto, the father of the boy, Sanis Mahto, mentioned that the family had been working in the fields all day and had attended an event in the evening. They learned of the tragedy from neighbors upon their return.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their respective families on Thursday after post-mortem examinations were conducted by a medical board comprising three doctors.
Police are actively investigating the case to uncover the clear reasons behind this extreme step. SHO Sharma added that while the prima facie evidence points to suicide, the investigation is ongoing. The forensic team has thoroughly examined the scene, and police are questioning members of both families. The officer noted that an atmosphere of mourning and fear currently pervades the village.
