Bihar Teen's Delhi Dream Cut Short in Kanpur
A simple family argument in Gaya, Bihar, nearly turned into a dangerous journey for three young girls. The Railway Protection Force intervened at Kanpur Central Station, preventing what could have been a tragic outcome.
The Escape Plan
A 14-year-old girl from Gaya felt deeply upset after her mother scolded her. The disagreement happened when the teenager asked for money to go out with a friend. Feeling agitated and misunderstood, she made a drastic decision.
The girl decided to leave her home and become self-reliant. She set her sights on Delhi, believing the capital city offered better opportunities. She then convinced two of her friends to join her on this impulsive adventure.
The Railway Intervention
The three girls boarded the Mahabodhi Express on Saturday. They traveled in the general coach, heading toward Delhi with limited resources and no concrete plans. Meanwhile, their worried families in Gaya had already filed a police complaint.
Authorities suspected possible kidnapping. The Gaya police station began investigating the girls' disappearance immediately.
On Sunday, crucial information reached the Railway Protection Force post at Kanpur Central Station. RPF personnel learned that three runaway girls were traveling in the Mahabodhi Express. They prepared to act as the train approached platform number two.
The Rescue Operation
When the train arrived, RPF officers started searching the general coach. The girls spotted the uniformed personnel and quickly got off the train. They tried to slip away toward the Cantonment side of the station.
RPF personnel cordoned off the area effectively. They managed to locate and detain all three girls before they could leave the station premises. The officers then questioned them about their unusual journey.
During questioning, the 14-year-old explained her motivation. She revealed her mother's scolding had prompted her decision to run away. She expressed her desire to become independent and self-sufficient in Delhi.
Safe Return Home
The RPF immediately contacted Gaya police station in-charge Dhananjay Singh. They informed him about recovering the missing girls. SN Patidar, the RPF post in-charge at Kanpur Central Station, confirmed the successful operation.
Bihar police officers traveled to Kanpur to take custody of the three teenagers. The girls are now safely back with their families, ending their brief and risky attempt at independence.
This incident highlights how teenage emotions can sometimes lead to impulsive decisions. It also demonstrates the effective coordination between railway security forces and local police across state boundaries.
