In a shocking incident, the body of a young migrant worker was discovered on the outskirts of Pipalya village in Rajkot district late on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Chandan Kumar Rai, aged 26, was a native of Bihar and had sustained fatal injuries.

Brutal Attack with Multiple Weapons

According to police, Rai's body bore signs of a violent assault. A postmortem examination confirmed that he was attacked with both a sharp-edged weapon and a blunt object. The injuries included multiple stab wounds and severe trauma to the head.

The Gondal Taluka police, along with the Rajkot rural Local Crime Branch (LCB), swiftly arrived at the scene after receiving information about an unidentified body lying in the area. The investigation was immediately taken up.

Victim's Background and Recent Movements

Preliminary inquiries by the police have painted a picture of the victim's life. Chandan Kumar Rai had moved to Rajkot approximately a month ago in search of employment opportunities. At the time of the tragic incident, he was working at a factory located in Pardi village of Lodhika taluka.

Unmarried, Rai was the sole brother among three sisters. Investigators are meticulously examining his recent movements, contacts, and possible motives behind the gruesome murder.

Police Inspector VM Dodiya stated that a detailed investigation has been initiated, with all possible leads being pursued. The authorities suspect that the murder was committed sometime between 9 pm and 10 pm on December 17.

The police are currently focused on piecing together Rai's last known activities and interactions. The case highlights concerns over the safety of migrant workers who move to industrial hubs like Rajkot for livelihood.
