The complainant, a 25-year-old woman, reported that she worked at a firm where she met the accused, who was her colleague. According to her statement, their acquaintance began professionally, but it soon turned personal. A few months into their relationship, the accused allegedly took the woman to his house under the guise of an outing. It was there that he reportedly raped her, as per the police report.
When the woman protested the assault, the accused is said to have pacified her by promising to marry her soon. This promise allegedly formed the basis of a subsequent financial fraud. Over the course of their relationship, he convinced her to give him between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 7 lakh. He claimed he needed these funds to purchase a separate house where they would live together after their wedding, according to the woman's complaint.

Recently, the woman began pressuring the accused to finalise their marriage plans. In response, he flatly refused to marry her, leading to the breakdown of their relationship. Feeling betrayed and victimised, the woman then filed a formal complaint with the police, detailing the alleged rape and financial fraud.
