Bhopal Hit-and-Run Tragedy Claims Life of Young Finance Worker

A devastating hit-and-run incident in Bhopal has resulted in the death of a 24-year-old finance company employee, sending shockwaves through the local community. The fatal collision occurred on Thursday afternoon when a speeding SUV violently rammed into a motorcycle on Kaliashot Road near the forest department barrier in Ratibad.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The head-on collision took place around 2:30 pm near Bull Mother Farm. The victim, identified as Sandeep Maheshwari, aged 24 and originally from Bilkisganj (Jahgaria) in Sehore district, was traveling from Shahpura to a customer's residence in Ratibad via the Kaliashot Dam Road. He had just completed loan-related work in Shahpura before the tragic incident unfolded.

Following the severe impact, Sandeep sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries approximately two hours after admission during treatment.

Driver and Occupants Flee Scene

In a disturbing turn of events, the driver and two to three occupants of the SUV fled the scene immediately after the collision. According to police reports, the vehicle's tyre burst during the incident, prompting the occupants to allegedly snap off the registration plates in an apparent attempt to evade identification and legal consequences.

Local witnesses reported seeing the youths tampering with the plates before making their escape, adding crucial details to the ongoing investigation.

Police Response and Investigation

Ratibad police responded promptly to the scene, seizing the abandoned SUV using a crane for further forensic examination. Investigation Officer ASI K K Dwivedi confirmed all essential details of the case, while Sub-inspector Gaurav Pandey stated that authorities have registered a case targeting the unidentified driver as the manhunt continues.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with police pursuing all available leads to identify and apprehend those responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.

Family Tragedy and Personal Loss

The Maheshwari family received Sandeep's body following the post-mortem examination, plunging them into profound grief. Adding to the tragedy, Sandeep was engaged to be married with wedding preparations already underway for an April ceremony. His untimely death has shattered relatives and loved ones who were eagerly anticipating his upcoming nuptials.

This incident highlights the grave consequences of reckless driving and hit-and-run accidents, raising important questions about road safety measures and enforcement in the region.
