The woman was employed at a club where the builder was a member. Their paths crossed there, and in 2022, Pragati offered her a part-time position at his office. She accepted the job opportunity. During her employment, the builder expressed romantic interest and eventually proposed marriage to her.
When the woman raised concerns about his existing marital status, Pragati provided assurances. He told her he was in the process of seeking a divorce from his wife. Trusting these promises, the woman entered into a relationship with him. Police officials have described this relationship as a continuous cycle of sexual exploitation that followed.
Three Years of Deception and Recent Fallout
The alleged abuse continued for a grueling three years. Throughout this entire period, Pragati neither divorced his wife nor married the complainant as promised. The situation reached a breaking point recently when the woman, tired of the deception, pressed him to formalize their relationship.
In response, the builder refused her demands and began to distance himself. This action finally led her to realize the extent of the deception. Understanding that she had been misled with hollow promises, the victim gathered the courage to approach the Kolar police station to file a formal complaint.
