A shocking case of murder has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, where a young man was allegedly killed by his friends and his body thrown into a deep dry well. The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the crime.
Victim Goes Missing After Night Out
The victim has been identified as Sanjay Kahar (21), a resident of Silari Colony in Makhan Nagar. According to police reports, Sanjay had returned home just five days prior, after working in Aurangabad for two months. On the evening of December 28, he received a call from his friend, Sagar Kuchbandia, who invited him to meet.
The group gathered in Gayatri Colony, where they began consuming alcohol. What started as a casual drinking session soon took a violent turn. An argument broke out among the friends, which quickly escalated into a physical assault.
Gruesome Discovery in Gujjarwada Village
The commotion during the assault alerted neighbours, who promptly called the police. A Dial-112 team rushed to the spot with sirens blaring. However, before the police could intervene, the accused allegedly put the injured Sanjay on a motorcycle and fled the scene.
They took him to a crematorium area in Gujjarwada village, located about five kilometres from Makhan Nagar. There, they assaulted him again before dumping his body into a nearby deep dry well.
With the assistance of local villagers, the police launched a search operation. The body was eventually recovered between 3 am and 4 am. A courageous local youth climbed down into the well to help retrieve the body. Sanjay's clothes were torn, and he had sustained serious injuries to his head, chest, and stomach.
Police Action and Investigation
The police have taken three individuals into custody for interrogation. The accused have been named as Sagar Kuchbandia, Paras Kuchbandia (who are brothers), and their associate Kuldeep Ahirwar.
After recovery, Sanjay's body was kept overnight at the Makhan Nagar mortuary. A post-mortem examination was conducted on Monday morning to determine the exact cause of death and gather further forensic evidence.
The case highlights a brutal instance of violence among acquaintances, stemming from a drunken argument. The police investigation is ongoing to establish the complete sequence of events and the precise motive behind the fatal attack.
