Bhagalpur District Peace Committee Enforces Strict Festival Guidelines

In a significant move to guarantee peaceful celebrations of multiple upcoming religious festivals, the District Peace Committee (DPC) of Bhagalpur convened a crucial meeting at the district collectorate on Friday. The gathering focused on comprehensive security and organizational arrangements for Eid, Chaiti Durga Puja, Ram Navami, and Chaiti Chhath observances.

Complete Prohibition on Disruptive Elements

The committee, under the leadership of District Magistrate Nawal Kishor Chaudhary, has implemented a complete prohibition on playing DJ systems and raising provocative slogans or objectionable songs during all festival activities. This decisive measure aims to prevent any potential disturbances and maintain communal harmony throughout the celebration period.

District Magistrate Chaudhary emphasized that DPC members actively participated in an interactive session, providing valuable feedback regarding festival preparations. Members highlighted several essential requirements including thorough cleanliness at festival sites, systematic spraying of bleaching powder and lime water, uninterrupted power supply, efficient traffic management systems, and strengthened law and order arrangements.

Administrative Assurance and Special Arrangements

The DPC members collectively assured the administration of their full cooperation and commitment to ensuring all festivals are celebrated peacefully while fostering a genuine spirit of social harmony. In response to specific concerns, the district administration is making special arrangements for Chaiti Chhath celebrations, particularly addressing challenges posed by currently low water levels in local rivers and ponds.

Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav confirmed that all law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert to maintain peace and order during the festival period. The police department has deployed dedicated motorcycle patrol teams across sensitive areas and is actively requesting public cooperation regarding the restrictions.

Public Cooperation Requested

SSP Yadav specifically appealed to citizens to refrain from using DJ systems in any processions or programs and to avoid raising provocative slogans or playing offensive songs. The comprehensive security strategy combines proactive policing with community engagement to create an environment where all religious communities can celebrate their festivals without disruption or concern.

The District Peace Committee's coordinated approach represents a model of preemptive planning, bringing together administrative officials, law enforcement, and community representatives to address potential challenges before they arise. This collaborative effort underscores Bhagalpur's commitment to maintaining its tradition of peaceful multi-faith celebrations while adapting to contemporary security requirements.
