In a decisive move to uphold public safety, the Belagavi police have taken stringent action against three habitual offenders by issuing externment orders. The individuals, who have been involved in multiple cases related to gambling and ganja, have been directed to leave the district for a period of five months. The police have identified the externed persons as Sarfaraj Shabbirahmed Shaikh from Shahapur, Vinayak Prakash Kollapuri from Ayodhya Nagar in Tilakwadi, and Sagar Pandurang Salagude from Basavangalli, Hosur, Shahapur. According to official records, these individuals have a history of criminal involvement that necessitated this action.

Police investigations reveal that Sarfaraj is implicated in 16 cases, primarily related to matka and other offences across various police stations. Vinayak faces five cases linked to the sale of ganja and associated crimes, while Sagar has six cases registered against him for matka and other criminal activities. The externment orders were issued under legal provisions to prevent further disruption to public peace.
Duration and Residency Directions
The externment orders are effective for five months, during which the trio must reside outside Belagavi district. Specifically, they have been directed to stay in Vijayapura, Karwar, and Yadgir, respectively.
