A 32-year-old battery trader was discovered dead with a gunshot wound to his head inside the office of his rented warehouse in the Transport Nagar area of Gwalior early Wednesday, according to police. The case prima facie appears to be a suicide, police added.
Details of the Incident
A country-made pistol was found lying near the body. The deceased has been identified as Shivam Gupta, a resident of Gwalior who operated a battery business. Police stated that Shivam had left home for work on Tuesday but did not return at night. His family repeatedly tried to contact him, but his mobile phone remained switched off.
Concerned, family members began searching for him and reached his warehouse at Parking No 6 in Transport Nagar around 3 am. When they opened the office inside the warehouse, they discovered Shivam's body. Shivam’s mobile phone and the pistol were seized from the scene.
No Prior Indications
Shivam had not mentioned any personal or business-related problems before leaving for work, police noted. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
