Anakapalle Police Nab Repeat Offender in Major Gold Theft Case
In a significant breakthrough, the Anakapalle district police have successfully apprehended a habitual offender responsible for a high-value house burglary in the Ganthavanipalem locality under Munagapaka mandal. The arrest led to the recovery of approximately 192 grams of gold ornaments, with an estimated market value of Rs 30 lakh, from the accused.

According to police officials, the arrested individual has been identified as Kona Rajesh (23), a resident of Anakapalle town. The investigation into the burglary revealed that Rajesh is a repeat offender, with multiple cases already registered against him under the jurisdiction of the Anakapalle town police station. This pattern of criminal behavior underscores his status as a habitual lawbreaker.
The burglary incident occurred several days ago when Rajesh targeted the locked house of K Umadevi while her family was away visiting a temple. Taking advantage of the absence, he forcibly entered the premises and made off with nearly 200 grams of gold jewelry, leaving the family devastated by the loss.
Police Response and Preventive Measures
Anakapalle district police chief Tuhin Sinha emphasized the importance of community vigilance and the utilization of modern technology to combat such property crimes. In light of this incident, the police have issued a strong appeal to residents to adopt the Locked-House Monitoring System (LHMS) as a proactive security measure.
Through LHMS, homeowners can integrate their CCTV cameras with police systems, enabling real-time alerts and image transmission to authorities if an unauthorized entry is detected. Upon receiving such alerts, the police control center immediately notifies the nearest police station, facilitating swift intervention to prevent burglaries and apprehend suspects before they can escape.
