Ahmedabad Home Targeted in Nighttime Burglary, Valuables Worth Rs 2.55 Lakh Stolen
Burglars struck a residential property in Ahmedabad's Jodhpur gaam area. They made off with valuables totaling Rs 2.55 lakh. The theft occurred during the night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Family Discovers Theft After Waking Up
Vikram Thakor, a 51-year-old resident of the house, discovered the burglary. He filed a formal complaint with the Anandanagar police on Thursday. The family was asleep when the incident took place.
According to the First Information Report, the theft happened between 11 PM on Tuesday and 6:30 AM on Wednesday. An unidentified person entered the home during these hours.
Stolen Items Include Cash, Gold, and Documents
The burglar targeted a wooden cupboard located in the kitchen. Stolen items include:
- Rs 1.5 lakh in cash
- A mobile phone valued at Rs 20,000
- A gold ring worth Rs 75,000
- Two gold pendants estimated at Rs 10,000
- Several important documents
Police confirmed the total value of the stolen property as Rs 2.55 lakh.
Police Investigate Possible Unlocked Entry
Investigators noted a lack of immediate signs of forced entry. This detail raises suspicion. The accused might have exploited an unlocked door. Alternatively, they could have gained access without breaking anything.
Authorities have registered a case of burglary. They are applying relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation continues as police search for clues.
