Ahmedabad Delivery Executive Stabbed in Midnight Attack at Vaishnodevi Circle

In a shocking incident that has raised concerns about public safety in Ahmedabad, a 28-year-old delivery executive was allegedly stabbed and brutally assaulted by three unidentified men near Vaishnodevi Circle around midnight on Sunday. The Sola police have registered a case of attempted murder and assault, launching a thorough investigation into this unprovoked attack.

Victim Hospitalized with Serious Injuries

The victim, identified as Sandipkumar Meghwal, who works for a prominent quick commerce company, sustained a serious stab injury to his abdomen during the assault. He was immediately rushed to Sola Civil Hospital, where he was admitted to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Medical authorities have reported that Meghwal is currently conscious and in stable condition, though he continues to receive treatment for his injuries.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Attack

According to the detailed complaint filed with Sola police, Meghwal, originally from Haryana, has been living as a tenant in Chandkheda for approximately five months. On the fateful Sunday night, he stepped out with Pushpendra Rajput, a relative of his roommate, to pick up food from Gota. The two were traveling on a motorcycle when they entered the service road from Vaishnodevi Circle in the wrong direction.

Police investigations reveal that around 11:45 PM, Meghwal stopped near The Orion construction site to relieve himself while Rajput waited at a distance. It was at this moment that three unknown men, estimated to be between 20 and 25 years of age, allegedly confronted Meghwal without any apparent provocation.

Brutal Assault Details Emerge

The attack unfolded rapidly as one of the assailants grabbed Meghwal from behind while verbally abusing him. The other two men then launched a physical assault, during which Meghwal was stabbed in the abdomen. In an attempt to defend himself, he suffered a minor injury to his right thumb. The violence escalated when another assailant allegedly struck him on the head with a stone.

Hearing Meghwal's cries for help, Rajput rushed to the spot and immediately alerted Meghwal's roommate, Vijay. Simultaneously, he called the 108 emergency service, ensuring prompt medical attention for the injured delivery executive.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities have confirmed that no robbery attempt was reported during the incident, leaving the motive behind the attack completely unclear. The accused fled the scene immediately after the assault, according to police statements.

A senior officer from Sola police stated, "We are actively scanning CCTV footage from nearby roads and construction sites to identify the perpetrators. Our investigation is focused on determining the exact circumstances that led to this violent attack."

The case has drawn attention to late-night safety concerns in the area, particularly for delivery personnel and other essential workers who often work during unconventional hours. As the investigation progresses, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward while assuring the public of their commitment to solving this case swiftly.
