Police in Ahmedabad's Krishnanagar area took swift action on Sunday, detaining three individuals after a disturbing video showing them dancing with sharp weapons on a busy public road went viral across social media platforms. The incident, which occurred near Thakkarnagar, was deemed a serious threat to public order and safety by the authorities.

Viral Video Triggers Police Action

The matter came to the attention of law enforcement during a routine patrol. Around 2 PM on Sunday, a police team led by assistant police constable Mayur Dashrathsinh received specific information about a widely circulated video. The footage was reportedly shot in the vicinity of Natraj Pan Parlour in Thakkarnagar.

The viral video clearly depicted a group of young men dancing energetically to music. However, the alarming aspect was that they were brandishing sharp weapons while performing on a public thoroughfare. This reckless act not only posed a direct danger but also caused significant obstruction to pedestrians and motorists in the bustling area.

Identity of the Accused Revealed

Leveraging the evidence from the viral video, the Krishnanagar police successfully traced and apprehended three men seen in the footage. The detained individuals have been identified as:

  • Akash alias Tako Patni (29), a daily-wage labourer residing in Asarwa.
  • Sagar Patni (27), also a daily-wage labourer, who lives near the Thakkarnagar police chowky.
  • Karan Patni (20), a resident of the local area.

Police Vow Strict Measures Against Public Disorder

A senior official from the Krishnanagar police station emphasized the gravity of the situation. The police have made it clear that they will not tolerate any behavior that disrupts public peace or appears to glorify violence, especially when such acts are broadcast on social media. Strict legal action is being pursued against the detained trio to serve as a deterrent.
