In a significant crackdown on illegal cattle slaughter, police in Mangaluru seized a substantial 56 kilograms of beef during a targeted raid at a residential property in Hosavaklu, Barya village, Belthangady taluk. The operation, conducted on Thursday, was initiated following credible intelligence about unlawful cow slaughter and meat processing activities taking place on the premises.

Acting on the received information, a team from the Uppinangadi police station, led by Police Sub-Inspector Suthesh KP, swiftly mobilized and descended upon the house belonging to H Abdul Rahiman. Upon arrival, the officers encountered a scene of attempted evasion, with two individuals fleeing from the location to avoid apprehension.
Discovery and Seizure of Evidence
A thorough inspection of the site revealed multiple packets of beef stored within the house. Further investigation extended to a nearby autorickshaw, where additional packets of the prohibited meat were discovered. The cumulative weight of the confiscated beef amounted to 56 kilograms, marking a substantial haul in the enforcement of cattle protection laws.
In addition to the beef, authorities seized several key items as evidence for the ongoing investigation:
