Tragic Love Stories End in Heartbreaking Suicide Pacts

In a devastating series of events that has left the Bijnor district in shock, four young lives were lost within 24 hours in what appear to be suicide pacts between couples. The tragic incidents have highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by young people in relationships across the region.

First Couple's Poisoning Tragedy

The first tragedy unfolded when 21-year-old Vipul Kumar from Dhampur's Pipla village and his 20-year-old girlfriend from Nagina allegedly consumed poison while talking to each other on the phone. The incident occurred after both attended a wedding in the Syohara area on Friday night, where the young woman had come to visit her aunt's house.

On Saturday morning, Kumar made a heartbreaking final call to his family, informing them he was lying unconscious outside his village. His relatives immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Bijnor, where doctors declared him dead due to poisoning. Police initially attempted to halt the funeral for a postmortem examination, but eventually completed the necessary paperwork and released the body for cremation after the family's requests.

Meanwhile, the young woman, described as a college graduate from another caste, also consumed poison in Syohara and died shortly afterward. Her family conducted her cremation hastily without informing local authorities, adding another layer of mystery to the tragic event.

Second Couple Found Hanging

In a separate but equally tragic incident that occurred early Sunday morning, another young couple was found hanging from a tree approximately 500 meters away from Jamaluddinpur village under Chandpur police limits. The grim discovery was made by local villagers who immediately alerted the police.

Police identified the victims as 21-year-old Anshu Kumar and 18-year-old Shivani, both from the same village and belonging to the same caste. Investigators revealed that Shivani's marriage had been arranged elsewhere, which they believe may have triggered the extreme step taken by the young couple. The bodies were sent to the district hospital for postmortem examinations.

Community in Mourning

Dhampur's circle officer, Abhay Kumar Pandey, confirmed that no formal complaint has been received regarding the first case, and so far, only a case of suicide has been reported. The investigation continues as authorities try to piece together the complete sequence of events that led to these heartbreaking losses.

Local villagers pointed out the alarming pattern, noting that four young individuals from two couples had ended their lives within a single day in Bijnor district. The incidents have sparked conversations about the pressures faced by young people in relationships and the importance of mental health support in rural communities.

Vipul Kumar's friend's wedding, which should have been a celebration, instead became the backdrop for this tragedy. The young woman was reportedly related to the groom, adding to the emotional complexity of the situation. As families mourn their unimaginable losses, the community grapples with understanding what drove these young people to take such drastic measures.
