In a distressing incident from Andhra Pradesh, a four-day-old infant girl was discovered abandoned under harsh weather conditions near a forest area in Sri Sathya Sai district. The newborn was found on Tuesday close to a forest guest house near Kalasamudram village in Kadiri rural mandal.
Locals Hear Cries, Swift Rescue Effort
According to police reports, unidentified individuals left the baby by the roadside in the forested zone. Alert locals first noticed the infant after hearing her cries piercing the cold air. They immediately informed the police, triggering a rapid response.
Acting swiftly on the information, a team of police personnel rushed to the remote spot. They were joined by staff from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). Together, they rescued the newborn and shifted her to the government area hospital in Kadiri for urgent medical attention.
Baby Stable But with Physical Deformity
Doctors at the hospital conducted a thorough examination of the infant. They confirmed that the baby's health condition is currently stable despite the ordeal of exposure to severe cold.
However, during the check-up, medical professionals observed a significant physical deformity. The newborn is missing four fingers on her left hand. This observation has led to speculation that the deformity might be a possible reason behind the abandonment. The child remains under continuous medical care and observation at the hospital.
