In a late-night incident that has sent shockwaves through the area, the Delhi Police has taken swift action, arresting four individuals and apprehending a minor for their alleged involvement in a brutal stabbing case. The violent episode unfolded near a restaurant in the bustling Mukherjee Nagar locality of North Delhi.
Chilling Sequence of Events Near Eatery
The altercation that led to the stabbing reportedly began around midnight on Monday. According to police reports, a 25-year-old man had visited the eatery with his brother. Their night took a violent turn when they encountered a group, including a woman, who were allegedly in an intoxicated state. This group initiated a quarrel with the two brothers.
The situation escalated rapidly when the accused allegedly tried to confine the brothers inside the restaurant premises. Showing quick thinking, the brothers managed to escape from the immediate threat. However, their ordeal was far from over.
Attack and Swift Police Response
After their escape, the assailants intercepted the victim again near the same restaurant. In a brutal assault, one of the group members allegedly stabbed the 25-year-old man in the abdomen and hand with a knife. Police sources indicate that the woman in the group played a role by allegedly instigating the attackers during the assault.
The injured man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Following the incident, the Mukherjee Nagar police station launched a thorough investigation, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the accused.
Arrests Made and Charges Filed
The police have successfully arrested four primary accused in the case. They have been identified as Ramesh (26), Gautam (23), Satyam (25), and a 26-year-old woman. All are residents of Mukherjee Nagar. Additionally, a juvenile has been apprehended for his involvement in the crime.
During interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to their roles in the attack. They also named another associate, Mohit, who is currently absconding. A manhunt is underway to locate and arrest him.
The authorities have registered a formal case under serious sections of the law. The charges include Section 109 (attempt to murder) and Section 3(5) (common intention) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Mukherjee Nagar police station.
