Parking Contract Dispute Turns Violent in Srikakulam
Police in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district have arrested three individuals for allegedly attempting to murder a man and his associates. The violent incident stemmed from a dispute over the contract for managing two-wheeler parking at the Palasa railway station.
Long-Time Contractor Loses Bid, Plots Revenge
The primary accused, Meesala Suresh (50), a contractor, had managed the two-wheeler parking and the railway running room at Palasa station for nearly 13 years. However, in a recent tender process, another person won the contract. Disappointed by this loss, Suresh, along with his uncles, Meesala Chinna Rao (60) and Meesala Mohan Rao (70), allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate the new contractor.
All three accused are natives of Padmanabhapuram village under the Palasa mandal. The police have registered a case based on a complaint from the victim and have launched a manhunt for a fourth accused, identified as Munna alias Sudeep.
Armed Assault and Police Seizure
The accused allegedly carried out their attack on January 9. They reportedly used a country-made revolver and sharp-edged weapons in their attempt to kill the new contractor and his associates. Following the arrests, the police conducted raids and made significant seizures from the accused.
The recovered items include:
- A firearm
- Four rounds of ammunition
- Three sharp-edged weapons
- Mobile phones
Ongoing Investigation and Community Impact
The swift action by the police led to the arrest of three of the four accused. The case highlights the extreme lengths to which individuals may go when faced with financial loss and disappointment in business dealings. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community in Palasa and the broader Srikakulam district.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to apprehend the remaining fugitive and uncover any further details related to the conspiracy. The case serves as a stern warning against resorting to violence in contractual disputes.
