Prayagraj: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Kashi Prant regional secretary of the Gau Raksha wing, Lal Mani Tiwari, announced the formation of 'Gaurakshak Sachal Dasta' (cow protection mobile squads) across the region to prevent cow smuggling and slaughter ahead of Bakrid. During a meeting at Kydganj, Tiwari emphasized that cow slaughter and smuggling would not be tolerated.
Structure of the Mobile Squads
In every block of Kashi Prant, 11 cow protectors have been designated to the mobile squads. These volunteers will form teams at the village level. Upon receiving alerts about cow smuggling or slaughter anywhere in the district, activists from different blocks will converge at the scene of the incident.
Patrolling and Prevention
Additionally, activists will form teams to patrol villages known to be hotspots for cow slaughter. They will strive to prevent such acts through vigilance and rapid response. According to Tiwari, this initiative is in line with a central directive.
Memorandum to Authorities
A memorandum addressed to the President of India will also be submitted to the district magistrate and police commissioner ahead of Bakrid. This memorandum reiterates the demand for stricter enforcement of cow protection laws.
