In a significant move aimed at social inclusion, the Rajasthan government will organize special camps across the state to assist denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic communities in obtaining crucial identity documents. The initiative, directed by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot, is set to run from January 12 to January 31.
Camp Details and Widespread Reach
Minister Gehlot announced that these assistance camps will be established in every district of Rajasthan. The camps are designed to have a comprehensive reach, covering both rural and urban areas. Specifically, they will be set up in all panchayat samitis, municipalities, municipal councils, and municipal corporations.
The primary goal is to help individuals from these historically marginalized communities secure essential certificates. These documents include voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards, caste certificates, and domicile certificates. Possession of these valid certificates is a key requirement for accessing various central and state government welfare schemes.
Streamlined Process and Official Coordination
To ensure the camps are efficient and accessible, Minister Gehlot has issued specific operational directives. In urban areas, officials have been instructed to create clusters of 5 to 8 wards, with a dedicated camp organized for each cluster. This micro-level planning aims to bring services closer to people's doorsteps.
Each camp will have a clear administrative structure for smooth coordination. One officer-in-charge will be appointed to oversee operations, supported by two to three e-Mitras. The e-Mitras will play a crucial role in helping applicants fill out online application forms free of cost during the camp itself.
Ensuring Maximum Awareness and Participation
The minister has stressed the importance of widespread publicity for the success of this drive. He has directed officials to leverage local public representatives to spread awareness about the dates and locations of the camps within their communities. This grassroots-level communication is vital to ensure that the intended beneficiaries are informed and can avail themselves of the services.
This concerted effort by the Rajasthan government underscores a commitment to simplifying bureaucratic processes for vulnerable groups.
