Broader Context

This pilot is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, which seeks to make urban areas clean and garbage-free. The Asansol-Durgapur region is a key industrial belt, and the initiative is expected to bring significant improvements in waste management practices.

By focusing on community participation and education, the project aims to create sustainable habits among residents. The state government plans to replicate the model in other municipal areas after evaluating the pilot's success.
