The district excelled in categories including best anganwadi worker, best anganwadi helper, best anganwadi supervisor, and best anganwadi itself. This remarkable achievement means Wayanad secured awards in five out of the six categories announced, demonstrating comprehensive excellence across multiple facets of child development services.
Infrastructure Development Through Strategic Funding Convergence
A key component of Wayanad's success involved addressing critical infrastructure gaps in the anganwadi system. The district administration identified land for anganwadis that previously lacked their own premises and undertook construction of new buildings through an innovative convergence of funds from multiple sources. These included resources from the Wayanad package, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, MPs' Local Area Development Scheme, SASCI initiatives, and PM Janman projects, ensuring sustainable infrastructure development.

These included systematic entry home visits, government children's home visits, adoption centre visits, and comprehensive awareness programmes under the foster care scheme.
