Railways Implement Multi-Dimensional Action Plan for Rudraksh Mahotsav Pilgrims

In a significant move to ensure the safety and convenience of thousands of devotees flocking to Kubereshwar Dham in Sehore for the ongoing 'Rudraksh Mahotsav', the Ratlam rail division has rolled out a comprehensive, multi-dimensional action plan. This extensive strategy will remain in force until February 20, addressing the anticipated surge in passenger traffic with meticulous planning and resource allocation.

Enhanced Train Services and Temporary Halts

The railway administration has proactively arranged temporary halts for 21 pairs of trains at Sehore station to accommodate the extra passenger rush. This measure is designed to facilitate smoother travel for pilgrims arriving from various regions. Additionally, three pairs of special trains are currently operating between Ujjain and Sehore/Bhopal, providing dedicated connectivity for festival attendees. The division has also kept further contingency special trains on standby, ready to be deployed based on real-time demand assessments, ensuring flexibility in managing crowd dynamics.

Robust Security and Crowd Management Measures

To maintain order and safety, specialised crowd holding areas have been established outside the platforms. Passengers are only permitted onto the platforms shortly before their train's arrival, a strategy aimed at preventing overcrowding and potential hazards. This is supported by a heavy deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at all entry and exit points, ensuring vigilant monitoring and quick response to any incidents.

24/7 Surveillance and Emergency Preparedness

The entire railway premises is under round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, with feeds being monitored by senior officials at the divisional office. This continuous oversight allows for immediate intervention in case of any untoward events. Furthermore, a trained Civil Defence team is stationed on-site, equipped to manage emergencies or medical exigencies promptly, adding an extra layer of preparedness for the well-being of pilgrims.

Upgraded Passenger Amenities and Infrastructure

Passenger amenities have been significantly ramped up to enhance the travel experience. Additional ticket counters have been opened on both sides of the station to minimise waiting times and streamline the ticketing process. Directional banners and signage have been installed throughout the station and the mela area, guiding pilgrims efficiently and reducing confusion.

Infrastructure improvements include enhanced lighting for better visibility and safety, provision of clean drinking water to keep devotees hydrated, and the installation of mobile toilets to address sanitation needs. Dedicated cleaning crews have been deployed to maintain high hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for all visitors.

Ratlam divisional railway manager Ashwani Kumar emphasized the division's commitment to pilgrim welfare, stating that these measures are part of a holistic approach to support the spiritual gathering while prioritizing safety and convenience.
