In response to persistent complaints about ticketless travel, the Malda division of Eastern Railway has launched a rigorous ticket-checking campaign along the Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Jamalpur railway section. This initiative aims to enhance passenger safety and maintain order on trains.

Leading the on-ground efforts is Dilip Chourasia, Chief Inspector of Tickets in Bhagalpur, supported by a specialized squad comprising commercial inspectors, ticket-checking staff, and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.
Objectives and Passenger Safety Measures
The primary goals of this drive are multifaceted:

- Preventing overcrowding in reserved coaches
- Eliminating nuisances such as unauthorized travel and unhygienic conditions
Manish Kumar Gupta emphasized that the campaign against ticketless travelers and travel irregularities has been intensified across the Malda railway division. He also noted that railway magistrate checking drives are being conducted at Bhagalpur station to reinforce these efforts.
Future Actions and Passenger Appeal
Gupta warned that more stringent actions will be taken against offenders to deter future violations. He appealed to passengers to travel with valid tickets and cooperate with authorities to ensure safe and comfortable journeys for everyone.
This proactive measure by Eastern Railway underscores its commitment to improving travel experiences and maintaining regulatory compliance on one of its busiest sections.
