The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated a WhatsApp communication channel for candidates appearing in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. The agency has clarified that all official WhatsApp communications will be sent only through its verified account bearing the number +91 78279 80287. Candidates have been advised to verify the presence of the blue verification tick and the name "National Testing Agency" before trusting any message claiming to be from NTA.
Fresh Clarification on Admit Cards
In a fresh clarification, NTA stated that candidates who have already downloaded their admit cards for the June 21 NEET UG 2026 re-examination are not required to download them again. The SMS, email and WhatsApp notifications are primarily being sent to candidates who have not yet accessed their revised admit cards. The agency reiterated that admit cards issued for the May 3 examination are no longer valid, as many students have been allotted new examination centres in their preferred cities. Candidates need to download and print the June 21 admit card only once for examination purposes.
NTA Issues Strong Advisory on Fake Messages
With lakhs of medical aspirants preparing for the re-examination, NTA has issued a strict warning against fraudulent messages circulating on social media and messaging platforms. The agency stated that any number using the NTA name without the official blue verification badge should be treated as suspicious. Officials have stressed that the WhatsApp service operates solely as a broadcast channel. Candidates will receive updates, examination information and centre-related notifications, but they will never be asked to respond to messages, share personal information, disclose OTPs or make any payment. The warning comes at a time when cyber fraudsters frequently target students during major entrance examinations by impersonating official authorities.
Admit Cards Available Only Through Official Website
NTA has also reminded candidates that admit cards for the re-examination must be downloaded exclusively from the official NEET portal. The agency has advised aspirants to manually type the website address rather than relying on links forwarded through messages or social media platforms. Importantly, the admit card issued for the May 3 examination is no longer valid for the upcoming re-test. Candidates must obtain fresh admit cards issued specifically for the June 21 examination.
No Papers, Answer Keys or Paid Services
In a significant cautionary note, NTA reiterated that it never distributes question papers, answer keys or any so-called "leaked" examination material through WhatsApp, email or social media. The agency also clarified that it does not seek payments from candidates through messaging platforms for any examination-related service. Students have been urged to remain vigilant and ignore any communication claiming to offer advance access to question papers, answer keys or guaranteed admission opportunities.
Reporting Fraud and Cybercrime
To strengthen candidate safety, NTA has encouraged aspirants to report suspicious messages and fraudulent activities immediately through the designated reporting platform. Candidates can also contact the national cybercrime helpline by dialling 1930 or lodge complaints through the official cybercrime reporting portal. The advisory forms part of broader efforts by examination authorities to curb misinformation and safeguard candidates from scams during one of India's most competitive entrance examinations.
