Patna's Rs 30 Crore Common Service Centre Nears Completion by February End
The construction of the advanced Common Service Centre (CSC) at Mithapur in Patna is on the brink of completion, with the project expected to be finalized by the end of February. Executed under Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), this initiative represents a significant investment of Rs 30 crore, aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and public amenities in the region.
Innovative Design and Expansive Facilities
Spanning an impressive 26,000 square feet, the CSC is designed as a comprehensive one-stop solution for students and city residents alike. The facility will integrate a wide array of services, ranging from banking operations to beauty parlours and salons, fostering a vibrant community space that encourages interaction and growth among young individuals.
According to a PSCL official, the construction of the G+3 building is now complete. "Initially planned as a G+2 structure, an additional floor was incorporated into the project to expand its capacity," the official stated. "Currently, painting and electrification works are underway, and we aim to finish these tasks before the Holi festival."
Detailed Floor Plan and Amenities
The ground floor of the centre will host essential services including a post office, municipal corporation office, banks, and ATMs, alongside a public courtyard for gatherings. Moving to the first floor, visitors will find convenience stores, stationery shops, salons, and beauty parlours, catering to daily needs.
A unique feature on the second floor is 'didi ki rasoi', a kitchen and store facility complemented by an attractive open-air café, designed to provide a cozy dining experience. Each floor is equipped with gender-specific restroom facilities, ensuring comfort and accessibility for all users.
Enhanced Connectivity and Infrastructure
To improve access and mobility, the project includes several road developments:
- A 25-meter-wide and 200-meter-long PQC (pavement quality concrete) road connecting Mithapur metro station to the T-junction, featuring modern storm drainage, utility ducts, and street lighting.
- A 10-meter-wide and 190-meter-long PQC road for enhanced local connectivity and smooth traffic flow.
- A 15.3-meter-wide PQC road in front of the Chanakya National Law University and Chandragupt Institute of Management, facilitating easier access to educational institutions.
Sustainable and Smart Solutions
The CSC's design incorporates advanced drainage systems linked to the nearby Mithapur Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), effectively mitigating waterlogging issues and promoting environmental sustainability. This thoughtful integration underscores the project's alignment with smart city principles.
The PSCL official emphasized the broader impact, noting, "This development marks a significant step towards creating a smart educational ecosystem in Patna. The CSC will not only address the immediate needs of students but also contribute to the area's transformation into a premier educational hub, driving overall regional development."
With its completion imminent, the Common Service Centre is poised to become a landmark facility, blending functionality with community engagement, and setting a new standard for urban infrastructure in Bihar's capital.
