Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday led a significant public grievance hearing session in Bhubaneswar, marking a robust step in the state's citizen-centric governance approach. The 16th edition of the CM Grievance Hearing Programme saw the Chief Minister, accompanied by seven senior cabinet ministers and top officials, directly engage with citizens to address their pressing issues.
Direct Interaction and Swift Medical Approvals
Upon arrival at the dedicated cell in Unit-II, CM Majhi initiated the session by personally meeting 30 individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses who were waiting outside the venue. He listened to their concerns and instructed officials to take immediate necessary steps. Following this, he proceeded to address the grievances of registered complainants inside the hearing cell.
A key outcome of the session was the approval of medical assistance for several patients suffering from serious ailments through the single-window system. Beneficiaries included Papun Maharana from Keonjhar, Priyabrata Pradhan from Khurda, and Deeptimayi Dash from Cuttack, whose cases were expedited for urgent care.
Record Resolution Rate and Public Trust
Chief Minister Majhi announced that this was the first grievance programme session for the year 2026. He revealed that the government has received over 14,000 grievances so far, including those from Monday's session. "We are considering all the cases on priority and resolving them in record time," Majhi stated.
He emphasized that this initiative has been instrumental in resolving long-pending issues and has significantly strengthened public trust in the administration. "We will continue to hold these sessions regularly," he affirmed, underscoring the government's commitment to swift problem-solving.
Official data presented during the hearing showcased an impressive track record:
- Out of 13,358 complaints received during the previous 15 sessions, 12,748 were resolved, achieving a 95% success rate.
- Over 56,000 people have visited the grievance cell to date.
- Additionally, from 1.49 lakh complaints lodged via the portal and mail, a substantial 88% have been addressed.
