Mysuru ADC Pushes for Full Digitization of Land Records Under Bhoo Suraksha Yojana
Mysuru ADC Orders Digitization of Land Records, Aadhaar Seeding

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) P Shivaraju issued a clear directive to revenue department officials in Mysuru on Wednesday. He wants them to accelerate the digitization of land records under the Bhoo Suraksha Yojana. Officials must also seed Aadhaar numbers with Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTCs).

Mysuru Aims for Top Spot in Revenue Works

Shivaraju made these statements during a review meeting for department-related activities. He expressed a strong ambition for the district. "Mysuru should become the top in implementation of revenue department works," he told the assembled officials.

The meeting saw participation from various key officers. Tahsildars, along with officials from land records, survey, and other departments, were all present to discuss the way forward.

Massive Digitization Target Set

The Bhoo Surakasha Yojana involves a monumental task. Officials are required to collect data and conduct surveys across the entire district. After this, they must scan, upload, and digitize a staggering number of documents.

Nearly 2.7 crore pages of land records need to be put online. This is the core objective of the scheme in Mysuru.

Building on Pilot Project Success

The digitization project is not starting from zero. It was initially launched on a pilot basis in Mysuru taluk. This trial run has already yielded significant results.

Officials successfully digitized 9.8 lakh pages of land records and uploaded them to the designated portal. This pilot provides a foundation and a model for the wider rollout.

Now, the ADC has set a strict deadline. He wants officials to complete these digitization works within the next three months. This completion must cover all hoblis (revenue circles) within Mysuru taluk.

Other Key Priorities Outlined

Beyond the digitization drive, ADC Shivaraju highlighted several other critical areas for the revenue department's focus.

  • Survey all bagar hokum land in the district. This type of land requires proper documentation and assessment.
  • Concentrate on clearing the backlog of land dispute cases that are currently pending in court. Resolving these is crucial for clear land titles.

Housing for Revenue Officials

The ADC also addressed the welfare of department staff. He instructed officials to prepare and submit proposals for constructing housing quarters for revenue department personnel.

This directive comes after studying similar housing proposals implemented in neighboring districts like Mandya. The aim is to provide better facilities for the officials managing these extensive land records.

The comprehensive review meeting underscores a major push by the Mysuru administration. They are determined to modernize land record management through technology and efficient governance.
