Himachal CM assures support to Tonglen Trust for children

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday assured all possible support to the Tonglen Trust, Dharamshala, in its efforts towards the education and welfare of underprivileged and marginalised children.

Financial Support Announced

Sukhu also announced financial support for students studying at the institution. He stated that children below the age of 14 years would be provided Rs 1,000 per month, while those above the age of 14 years would receive Rs 2,500 per month.

Delegation Meeting

A delegation from the Tonglen Trust, led by its director, Therchin Gyaltsen, met Sukhu and apprised him of the trust's request for a land lease for the school, which the organisation runs for disadvantaged students.

Appreciating the Trust's commitment to the welfare of underprivileged children, Sukhu lauded its contribution in the fields of education and humanitarian service. He said such initiatives played a significant role in empowering weaker sections of society and creating opportunities for a better future.
