Haryana CM Saini Orders Time-Bound Road Repairs in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday issued directives to officials to prioritize the completion of all road repair and reconstruction works within a stipulated timeframe. Presiding over a meeting of the district public relations and grievance redressal committee in the city, Saini instructed officials not to wait for complaints but to conduct regular field inspections to identify roads requiring immediate attention.

Proactive Approach to Road Maintenance

Saini emphasized the need for a proactive approach, urging officials from HSIIDC, PWD, MCG, and GMDA to provide department-wise updates on the condition of roads across the city. He stressed that every complaint must be examined seriously and disposed of within the given timeframe. The CM also highlighted the importance of regular interaction with citizens and called for a more accountable and responsive administrative system to reduce repeated visits to government offices.

Inter-Departmental Coordination and Monitoring

The chief minister underscored the necessity of inter-departmental coordination, directing departments to collaborate in resolving road-related issues promptly and improving traffic safety. He instructed officials to regularly monitor complaints received through the state government’s ‘Mhari Sadak’ app and ensure timely resolution.

Grievance Redressal Cases

During the meeting, a woman from Lakshman Vihar accused a financier of fraudulently registering her house in his name during a loan deal and refusing to vacate despite her offer to repay. Taking cognizance, Saini ordered an inquiry, directed officials to investigate the role of the then-tehsildar, and instructed police action against the financier.

In another case, a resident of Sector 4 raised issues related to waterlogging, drinking water supply, sewerage, and other civic amenities. Saini directed officials to conduct a comprehensive survey of the area and prepare a detailed report on all major issues.

Emphasis on Transparency and Accountability

Highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability, Saini directed members of the CM window’s grievance committee to personally contact complainants before closing any case, ensuring their satisfaction. This move aims to build trust and ensure that grievances are resolved effectively.

The CM’s directives come as part of a broader effort to improve governance and infrastructure in Gurgaon, a key city in Haryana. Officials have been tasked with ensuring that road conditions are regularly monitored and that complaints are addressed promptly to enhance the quality of life for residents.
