Buxar DM Inspects Kritsagar Pond for Tourism

Buxar: District Magistrate Sahila on Saturday inspected Kritsagar pond in Kritsagar village under Yogiyan panchayat in Brahmpur block as part of the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali campaign and directed officials to explore its tourism potential.

Tourism Development Plans

The DM instructed the district tourism officer to take immediate steps for developing the historic pond as a tourist destination. She emphasized that the site should be transformed into an attractive spot that promotes local heritage while generating economic opportunities for the surrounding community.

Pond Specifications and Renovation

During the inspection, the executive engineer of the minor irrigation division, Buxar, informed the DM that the pond spans 12.50 acres. A detailed project report (DPR) for its renovation has already been prepared and submitted to the department.

Officials stated that the proposed project includes excavation of 1,30,968 cubic metres of earth and construction of one inlet and two outlets to enhance water management at the site.

Approval and Timeline

Technical approval for the project has been received. Renovation work will begin after administrative approval is granted and the tendering process is completed, officials added.

The inspection was part of ongoing efforts under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali campaign to review conservation and development of historic water bodies.
