Jharkhand CEO Warns Negligent BLOs of Action in Electoral Roll Review
Jharkhand CEO Takes Strict Stand on Electoral Roll Revision

In a significant move to strengthen electoral integrity, Jharkhand's Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar conducted a comprehensive review meeting on Monday focused on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral rolls.

Strict Warning Against Negligence

The CEO issued a stern warning to all electoral officers, emphasizing that no kind of negligence can be tolerated in election-related work. Kumar specifically targeted Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who show reluctance in their duties, stating that strict action would be taken against them.

"If any BLO is found to be reluctant, their reports will have to be sent to the department. New BLOs will have to be appointed in their place and suspension proceedings will be initiated," declared an official statement from the CEO's office.

Mandatory Electoral Roll Mapping

During the meeting with Deputy Electoral Officers (DEOs), Kumar emphasized the critical need for maximum mapping of the current state electoral roll with the 2003 electoral roll. He clarified that this extensive mapping exercise is essential for the convenience of the upcoming Special Intensive Revision process.

The CEO explained that the more voters who complete parental mapping with the 2003 electoral roll, the easier it will be for them to fill enumeration forms during the revision process.

Field Visits and District-wise Review

Kumar conducted a detailed, point-wise review of electoral roll mapping across all districts in Jharkhand. He directed all officers to conduct regular field visits to inspect and resolve issues related to electoral roll mapping at the ground level.

The Chief Electoral Officer made it clear that officers at all levels must perform their allocated election duties without any laxity. The comprehensive review meeting underscores the state election department's commitment to ensuring accurate and updated voter lists ahead of future electoral processes.
