In a significant push to enhance electoral participation, the Bhagalpur district administration has launched a comprehensive voter awareness campaign targeting all assembly constituencies. Led by District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Nawal Kishor Choudhary, the initiative employs creative outreach methods to encourage maximum voter turnout during the upcoming polls.
Multifaceted Awareness Campaign
The district administration team, collaborating with women activists and self-help group members, is organizing an array of engaging activities. Cultural programs, street plays, roadshows, and rangoli-making events form the core of this unique outreach strategy. Additionally, awareness marches are being conducted across various assembly constituencies to spread the message of democratic participation.
Open theatre programs have been specially organized to promote free, fair, and peaceful elections in Bhagalpur. These initiatives aim to connect with voters through entertainment while emphasizing the importance of exercising their democratic right.
Comprehensive Polling Preparations
District Magistrate Choudhary has directed all sector officers and polling staff to ensure smooth and transparent voting processes within their jurisdictions. Polling in the district will be conducted on November 11 from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with all necessary arrangements already in place.
Every polling station will feature essential amenities including drinking water facilities, toilets, ramps for accessibility, and uninterrupted electricity supply. The administration has specifically focused on creating voter-friendly infrastructure to facilitate comfortable voting experiences.
Special Assistance for Voters
The election machinery is leveraging the network of Anganwadi workers, helpers, Jeevika didis, and ASHA workers to spread awareness about increasing voter turnout. These grassroots workers will also assist voters who need help casting their ballots on polling day.
Special arrangements include separate queues for men and women voters, with dedicated facilities for elderly citizens, persons with disabilities, and other voters requiring assistance. This voter-centric approach demonstrates the administration's commitment to inclusive electoral participation.
Bhagalpur district comprises a substantial electorate of 22,30,208 registered voters distributed across seven assembly constituencies. The constituency-wise breakdown shows Kahalgaon with 3,44,263 electors, Pirpainti with 3,44,278, Bhagalpur with 3,43,992, Nathnagar with 3,37,173, Sultanganj with 3,18,840, Gopalpur with 2,76,091, and Bihpur with 2,65,571 voters.
