UP Tourism Announces Grand Celebration for National Tourism Day 2026 in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is gearing up to commemorate National Tourism Day 2026 with a spectacular day-long event in Lucknow. Scheduled to take place at the iconic Rashtra Prerna Sthal on Sunday, this celebration will feature a rich array of cultural and tourism-focused programmes. The event underscores the state's strategic shift towards promoting rural, community-centric, and youth-driven tourism as key pillars of its development agenda.

High-Level Participation and Vision for Tourism

The occasion will witness the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh and Agriculture Minister, alongside officials from the tourism and culture departments. Representatives from educational institutions, rural tourism groups, and youth collectives will also participate, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the initiative. The event is themed around 'Rural and Community-Centric Tourism,' reflecting UP's commitment to inclusive growth.

In his address, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized that tourism serves as a powerful driver of employment, cultural pride, and inclusive economic growth in Uttar Pradesh. He stated, "Tourism is no longer confined to mere sightseeing. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has evolved into a transformative tool for rural empowerment, cultural revival, and livelihood generation." Singh further noted that focused efforts are being made to strengthen various tourism segments, including religious, rural, eco, and cultural tourism, with active community participation at their core.

Cultural Performances and Heritage Showcase

Adding a vibrant touch to the celebrations, students from the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Tourism Management will perform on themes such as Raag Yatra and Krishna Leela. These performances are designed to showcase the state's rich artistic and spiritual heritage, offering attendees a glimpse into Uttar Pradesh's diverse cultural tapestry. Through such engagements, the event aims to foster a deeper appreciation for local traditions while promoting tourism as a means of cultural preservation.

This initiative marks a significant step in UP's tourism strategy, aligning with broader goals to boost rural economies and engage younger generations in sustainable tourism practices. By integrating community involvement and youth-driven activities, the state hopes to create a more resilient and inclusive tourism ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders.
