Tehri Lake Festival Preparations Reviewed by District Magistrate Ahead of Event

In Dehradun, ahead of the highly anticipated Tehri Lake Festival, Tehri Garhwal District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal conducted a thorough inspection of Koti Colony on Wednesday. She meticulously reviewed the ongoing preparations for the event, issuing specific directions to officials concerning land use and logistical arrangements to ensure a seamless execution.

Comprehensive Planning Meeting with Stakeholders

Following the inspection, Khandelwal chaired a detailed meeting with public representatives and departmental officials to discuss and finalize the festival plans. The gathering included prominent figures such as Ghansali MLA Shakti Lal Shah, BJP district president Uday Rawat, Tehri municipal council chairman Mohan Rawat, Chamba municipal council chairperson Shobhani Dhanola, Muni Ki Reti municipal council chairperson Neelam Bijalwan, Ghansali Nagar Panchayat chairman Anand Bisht, Boat Union president Kuldeep Panwar, and various departmental officials.

Diverse Competitions and Adventure Activities Announced

Chief Development Officer Varuna Agarwal outlined the extensive lineup of competitions and activities scheduled for the festival. These include Master Chef Tehri, photography, rap, painting, and a fashion show titled Mr & Miss Tehri, which will showcase traditional hill attire. Adventure enthusiasts can look forward to rafting, a kite show, trekking, paragliding, water sports, mountain biking, and a vibrant food festival.

Substantial Prize Money and Thematic Programs

Officials confirmed that the top three winners in each competition will receive significant prize money: Rs 1 lakh for first place, Rs 50,000 for second, and Rs 25,000 for third. Additionally, the festival will feature programs centered on the theme “Save Ganga”, along with cultural performances and awareness events highlighting the heritage of Old Tehri, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and local culture.

The proactive measures and collaborative efforts underscore the administration's commitment to making the Tehri Lake Festival a memorable and successful event, boosting tourism and community engagement in the region.
