Goa Lifeguards Rescue 6 from Drowning, Including UK Tourist & Child
Goa Lifeguards Save 6 from Drowning Over Weekend

Lifeguards in Goa performed a series of critical rescues over the past weekend, saving six individuals from potential drowning at popular beaches across the coastal state. The swift actions of Drishti Marine's trained lifesavers prevented tragedy in multiple separate incidents.

Tourist and Toddler Saved at Palolem Beach

At Palolem beach, a 78-year-old British tourist found herself in grave danger after being caught in a powerful rip current while swimming. She lost her balance and was struggling to stay afloat. Lifesaver Dinesh Velip immediately spotted her distress, rushed into the water, and successfully brought her back to shore safely.

In a separate incident at the same beach, a three-year-old girl from Bengaluru was separated from her parents, causing panic. Alert lifesavers located the child and swiftly reunited her with her relieved family.

Intoxicated Swimmer and Family Assisted

A dangerous situation unfolded at Arambol beach involving a 22-year-old man from Telangana. Reports indicate he entered the sea while intoxicated with five friends. He soon began to drown as he was unable to swim or stand in the water. Observing his plight, lifesavers Vishnu Kubal and Manoj Parab sprang into action, using a surfboard and a rescue tube to reach and assist the struggling victim.

Meanwhile, off the coast of Mandrem beach, a mother and her 10-year-old son from Tamil Nadu began to struggle against a strong tide while swimming. When it became clear they could not return to shore on their own, lifesavers Dattaguru Korgankar and Sudhir Parab rushed to their aid and brought them to safety.

First Aid for Beach Injury

In another incident highlighting the varied dangers beachgoers can face, a 39-year-old man from Bagalkot, Karnataka, suffered a cut on his leg from broken glass while wading at Calangute beach. Drishti Marine personnel promptly administered first aid to the injured man.

These consecutive rescues underscore the vital role played by professional lifeguard services on Goa's bustling beaches. Drishti Marine has reiterated the importance of swimming only in designated safe zones, heeding warning flags, and avoiding entering the water under the influence of alcohol.
