Gandikota Grand Canyon Festival 2026: 3 Days of Heritage & Adventure in Kadapa
Gandikota Festival 2026: 3-Day Heritage & Adventure Extravaganza

The historic Gandikota fort in Kadapa district is gearing up for a spectacular cultural celebration. The much-anticipated Gandikota Grand Canyon festival, officially named Gandikota Utsavalu-2026, is poised to kick off on a grand scale this Sunday for a three-day immersive experience.

World-Class Tourism Experience Awaits Visitors

District Collector Dr. Sridhar Cherukuri has expressed strong confidence that the event will brilliantly showcase the region's deep-rooted heritage, fascinating history, and adventurous spirit. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department, in close collaboration with the Kadapa district administration, has orchestrated comprehensive arrangements to ensure a world-class tourism experience for visitors arriving from across India.

A major highlight this year is the introduction of aerial tourism via helicopter rides. For the very first time, tourists can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree bird's-eye view of the stunning Pennar River gorge and the majestic Erramala hills. In a significant move to boost accessibility, the district collector confirmed that the price for this thrilling aerial experience has been substantially reduced from Rs 5000 to a more affordable Rs 3000 per person.

Cultural Immersion and Adventure Activities

History enthusiasts will be treated to a unique audio-visual experience. The authorities have installed an advanced 270-degree screen audio-visual dome that will screen a documentary detailing Gandikota's glorious past. Entry to this educational dome is completely free for all attendees.

The evenings will come alive with vibrant musical performances. The festival's lineup features renowned artists, including folk music sensation Mangli, popular singer Ram Miriyala, and globally acclaimed percussionist Drums Sivamani. Beyond the cultural feast, the festival grounds will be a hub for adventure. Visitors can engage in a variety of exciting activities such as paragliding, boating in the Pennar gorge, and trekking.

Ensuring Accessibility for All

To encourage participation from rural areas across the district, the administration has made special transport arrangements. With the support of the APSRTC, a dedicated fleet of 39 bus services has been organized to ferry tourists conveniently to the Gandikota festival venue, ensuring seamless connectivity.

This three-day extravaganza promises to be a holistic celebration, perfectly blending the awe of natural wonders, the richness of historical narrative, and the thrill of modern adventure sports, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Grand Canyon of India.
