For instance, tickets to Hyderabad, which typically cost around 6,000 rupees, have soared to an astonishing 19,000 rupees this weekend. Similarly, flights to Kochi have seen fares jump from a usual 4,000 rupees to a staggering 18,000 rupees. The route to Bengaluru has not been spared either, with prices increasing from 3,500 rupees to 16,000 rupees, reflecting the heightened demand for travel during the holiday break.

Within Tamil Nadu, the surge in airfares is equally severe. Travelling to Madurai by air now costs approximately 13,500 rupees, compared to the regular fare of about 5,000 rupees. For Coimbatore, tickets have reached 16,500 rupees, a sharp rise from the usual 5,000 rupees. However, it is worth noting that flights to Trichy and Salem have remained relatively stable, with fares hovering around 5,000 rupees and not experiencing significant increases, offering some relief for travellers to these destinations.
